Entities and properties

The IoL Core object database is used for the storage of data entities that are commonly used, shared and exchanged in the logistics industry. The open IoL Core specification defines what entity types are supported; for example Transport instructions, Transport status updates, and Trade units.

Read an overview of the entity types and their use here:

  • TransportInstruction and TransportStatus
  • TransportRequest and TransportRequestAccept
  • Asset and AssetEvents
  • LegalParty
  • Location
  • TradeUnit

The list data entities in IoL Core is documented here. Each of the entity types contains a number of data properties, and each individual entity is accessed through its world-unique IoL identity.
